About South Park Commons
South Park Commons (SPC) is a community and venture fund for founders and domain-experts figuring out what’s next. We believe that good ideas rarely come about in isolation. To help our members navigate what we call -1 to 0, we’ve curated talent-dense, technical, and curious communities in San Francisco, New York, and Bengaluru.
Storytelling is critical to how we guide members through -1 to 0. We place a strong emphasis on developing each member’s ability to articulate and communicate their personal, product, and company narratives. This emphasis extends to SPC as a whole. That’s where you come in.
The Storytelling Associate Role
This is a writing-first role, but not writing-only. You’ll help make SPC’s ideas legible to the outside world, support our marketing strategy through high-quality content, and surface the curiosity and explorations of our membership. You’ll work closely with the Partner overseeing marketing and our broader community team to tell SPC’s and our members’ stories across essays, blog posts, social media, newsletters, and more. You will also play a critical role in shaping the editorial voice and direction of future major content initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit across formats, including:
- Long-form essays exploring -1 to 0, the ideation process, and the early-stage startup journey.
- Deep-dives into the latest developments in technical topics like AI, robotics, consumer applications, scientific research—any frontier where our members are exploring.
- Social posts designed for engagement across SPC and Partner channels.
- Source stories from members, staff, and the extended SPC network.
- Help manage our content calendar, ensuring regular publishing cadence and content variety.
- Maintain brand consistency, quality, and voice across all public-facing channels.
- Work with members to develop content strategies across stages of their journey—from earliest ideation through product launches and company announcements.
- Track content performance and define experiments for reach, engagement, and growth.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in content, journalism, editorial, or a writing-forward role in tech or media.
- Comfort across formats, from long-form technical deep-dives to twitter threads.
- Genuine curiosity about startups, technology, and early-stage company building.
